Menopause Transition Class

I am offering a NEW (trial) class! FIVE days a week, I will be offering a Menopause Transition Class that will be specific to the meno transition and all that I’ve learned in my certification. THREE days - M, W, & F - will be full-body workouts, two of those days will include HIT (High Intensity Training - not HIIT. This means the intensity level will be at a 7.5 out of 8.5 [ instead of the 9.5 or 10 that is HIIT] level of perceived exertion for 30-60 seconds, followed by a rest of 15-30 seconds). We will accomplish the HIT via MB slams, kettlebell swings, or mod to heavy strength training with a shorter rest and more sets.

If you choose the TWO day option, they will both be full-body, but you will have one less day of HIT unless you add this into your week, i.e. hill runs, running, cycling, hiking, etc…)

But, if you choose to come all five days, two of those days I will recommend them to be stretching. I have a nice area in the back where you can put some headphones on, stretch, and meditate if you wish to.

With both options, my hope is that we figure out a way for you two get TWO days od Moderate Intensity Cardio (MIC), i.e. zumba, jogging, swimming, etc…), and ONE to TWO days of Active Recovery, i.e. hike, gentle walking, yoga.

The general rec for MIC and overall health is 75-150 min of HIT per week. As always, listen to your body to determine the amount of time that is good for you.

Personally, I like to try a combination of intensities each week. Some weeks I recover slower than others, so I adjust based on how I feel.

I’m excited for this trial class! If it is well-attended then I will make it a part of the regular schedule of classes!
